The Essentials bag

essentials_bag.jpg

Things I like about the Essentials Bag: cell phone is easily accessible in the front pocket; the over-one-shoulder design makes it completely hands free; it allows you to be unfettered by large amounts of "stuff", while keeping organized via the many pockets and compartments. The one thing I don't like: it looks too much like a fanny pack or an ammunition belt, which essentially I guess it is! Seriously, I don't get why diaper bags have to be so big. As the toddler gets older I'm trying to minimize all the stuff that I need to bring with me. I really only need to bring 2 diapers at the most (and don't really find myself changing her at all when we're outside unless we're out for hours and hours at a time, so 2 is for just in case). I currently have a Skip Hop, which I like but do not love, but I guess I'm bit of a bag snob so I think I'll pass, but this might be a great alternative to a diaper bag for dads.
