The baby cage

baby_cage.gif

I came across this patent issued in 1998 of a baby cage from Totally Absurd Inventions (a great site, by the way, of real US patented inventions). It's sort of timely, what with that co-sleeping article in the NY Times and Ferber's latest softening stance on co-sleeping (apparently he thinks it's now "ok"). But there still is that fear of rolling over your baby in your sleep! (Personally, I slept so lightly with my baby that I awoke the minute she stirred, but I DID halfway roll over her once! Yikes!) This Baby Cage invention sure would do the trick I suppose, but isn't the benefit of co-sleeping so that you can be up close and cuddly with your baby?

Um...does the baby look comfortable to you, or more like a butterfly on display? :)
