3 in 1 Infrared Thermometer

It's nearly impossible to take my toddler's temperature now. I hesitate to insert anything into her for fear of poking something as she squirms around, so I'm really interested in how this 3 in 1 Infrared Thermometer works. Apparently you can just place the thermometer on the baby's forehead to get a reading. Hmmm...does anyone know how accurate these things are? This particular model also acts as an ear thermometer, and here's my favorite feature where I got suckered in: it also sits in its stand and doubles as a room thermometer. I don't know why, but I've become rather obsessive about monitoring the temperature of our rooms, always wondering whether she's too cold or too hot at night.
