Ayres Twin Bed

argayres300.jpg

I'm facing the big move from crib to big girl bed at some point this year and so I've been searching around for a twin bed that will take my toddler to her teen years and possibly beyond as a guest bed when she (yikes!) leaves for college (I know I know, way to plan ahead). So far I really like Argington's new Ayres Twin Bed. It's a platform bed so it's low to the ground and just has nice simple clean lines. I love, love, love that it has trundle drawers on castors for additional storage and that it doesn't necessarily look like a kid's bed but works for a kid. The flat, platform edges surrounding the mattress is perfect for her sippy cup of water, which she uses sort of like a "security blanket" and often falls asleep with it clutched in her hand (a bit weird, I know). But at $764 ($620 without trundle drawers), I better start saving my dollars now.

Available early June 06 at Zac and Zoe.

Those flat platform edges always look like shin-killers to me.

My first thought is that I would bust my shins on those sharp corners probably once a night. Otherwise, beautiful bed.
