Sigg Bottles

sparkability_1889_5971309.jpg

I know these are about 4-5 times more expensive than regular sippy cups, but how cute are these? They're made of aluminum with special liners to keep beverages tasting great and are spill proof and leak proof. I like the Asian-influenced characters, and although it's unlikely that I'll shell out $19, I do like the fact that my kid's sippy cup wouldn't get mixed up with everyone else's at the playground or playgroups.

Available at Sparkability.

I've always liked these but didn't offer them because of the price. Recent concerns about drinking out of plastic bottles/cups, however, caused me to change my mind. I don't think anybody will buy them for the look - but I think that some parents will buy them as an alternative to plastic sippy-cups.

It is a Sigg cup. Check out what treehugger has to say about them at:

It might be treehugger science, but it is interesting.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of the "take-up cup"? It's supposed to be the "cure all" to the great sippy cup debate as it does not have a "sippy" spout on it, rather a trap-door mechanism that opens to let out the liquid when it is pressed with the top lip, thereby forcing the drinker to make the seal around the rim of the cup with the bottom lip instead of the tounge, which is what speech paths across the country are claiming is the problem for chronic lisping, and other speech delays. If you've heard of them and where to get them, would you please let me know? thank you!

My kiddo only needs 1 compared to the 4 or 5 sippys he had before we switched. The price ended up being about the same if we had just skipped several plastic cups. Well worth every penny. They last a lot longer then a sippy cup, and are much better for your kids.
