Piddlers Toilet Targets

I don't have a boy so I don't know what's involved with toilet training one, but do these things really help? You're supposed to drop these flushable foam shapes in the toilet so they can work on their aim. To begin with, I'm scared to put anything extra in the toilet that might clog it (the piddlers are made of starch and food dye), but I'm just sitting here thinking that having a boy is a whole other ballgame.

Cheerios work just fine!

When I was younger I heard about moms potty-training their boys by throwing Froot Loops into the toilet and having the boys aim into the circles. It's kind of like target practice. So, this seems like an extension of that. Apparently, it does really work.

Drop one in a glass of water and you'll see that they are safe for septic systems... They dissolve super-quick even without urine.

Good tip about the cheerios and fruit loops So this may be a dumb question, but when troilet training boys, do you start out sitting on the potty, or go straight to standing and aiming?

I actually recommended these to a friend whose male co-workers apparently needed a refresher course and were fouling the unisex restrooms in their small office. Sometimes it's the big boys who need something to shoot for.

As a father with a son and a daughter (both potty-trained) I HIGHLY recommend you have your little guy sit down first. If you don't it's gonna spray all over the place. Bad.

$8.99 for those? Geez!
I think most boys start out sitting (That's why they put those little 'cup-type things' on the potty) but late(r) bloomers might go right to standing. There are products out there for boys who are just learning to stand, too. As in things that actually clip on to the toilet so they're actually aiming -at- the toilet! =) There are also waterproof stickers for aim-training, too.
