Intellicot

I admit there are a few features of the Intellicot that I do find interesting, particularly the automatic air circulation system that will circulate cool air on hot days - my kid just has a sweaty head and often wakes up in a little wet circle of sweat and the messiest bed head you've ever seen. I also find the raising system amusing - at a touch of a button, the mattress will lower and raise itself so you don't have to bend and lift your kid out of bed. I've got a bad back and have a hard time lifting the toddler in and out these days so I often end up "dumping" her in as soon as she lifts her feet over the rails.
There's also a built-in video monitor and auto rocking capabilities, but too bad the Intellicot looks so scary. The designers claim that traditional cribs are like wooden cages, but the polycarbonate safety windows on the Intellicot make it seem like the baby is in an incubator in a science lab. It's just not cozy, you know? Maybe they need to go back to the drawing table and try to integrate all these nifty features in a design that's a little more baby friendly.
