Flying Carpet Chair

A while ago, Jenna wrote about Flying Carpets which have forever intrigued us all. Now comes the Flying Carpet Chair designed by Eero Aarnio to completely captivate the kids. (Okay, maybe "completely captivate" is an exaggeration, but I really like the chair. It's sculptural!). And Aladdin is still very popular at our house. What fascinates the kids is the "magic carpet ride." Their ritual is for me to pop the movie into the DVD so they can haul out a raggedy blanket, spread it on the floor, sit in the middle of it and hold on to the sides, swaying left, then right as Jasmine and Aladdin fly over deserts and palaces and crowded street markets. I've even held a fan up above them so they feel like wind is blowing through their hair..you get the picture. So it's no suprise that I like this chair. It can also be used outdoors for nighttime "flying" under the stars. The chair comes in white, but the base and carpet are sold separately.
