Gerber's Recetas Latinas

2nd_foods_img.gif
Gerber has come out with a new line of baby foods called Recetas Latinas meant to introduce your baby to the foods of Latin America. Choices include a mango dessert in the First Foods category, Pollo y Arroz (why didn't they call it Arroz con Pollo?) in Second Foods and Frijoles Rojos con Pollo y Arroz (Red Beans with Chicken and Rice) in the, dare I say it, microwaveable meals for toddlers. I did notice a lot of mango in all the food category choices, but then again, who doesn't like them? A perfect food, if you ask me. Que rico!

Be sure to read the labels for these products closely. The Latino toddler meals were really high in sodium (over 500mg, if memory serves -- I can't find any nutritional info on Gerber's website).

Well that's pretty awesome! If this works out, I wonder if they'll start adding other culture-based foods. It would be cool to see miso soup or edamame or... creme brullee for our japanese/french baby.
