Accessories for the Like-A-Bike

I don't think I could ever spend $279 on a Like-A-Bike - it's just too much money to spend especially since our Kettler Trike is sitting pretty much unused by our front door, but I do love how it looks from a design perspective and always admire them when I see one around the neighborhood. These accessories are equally gorgeous - the trailer for hauling some serious gear around, and the basket for lighter loads (I'm all for getting the kid to haul around their own stuff!).

The like-a-bike definitely isn't cheap, and despite the fact that I'm normally pretty frugal, I bought one for my son last summer and don't regret it at all. It's so well-designed, really beautiful, and a great training tool.
The problem with conventional bikes and training wheels is that they teach kids how to pedal, not how to balance or ride a bike. After a few months on like-a-bike, my four year old was able to ride all around the neighborhood on his two-wheeler with just a push to get started. The like-a-bike teaches how to balance, steer, and ride. Once the child knows how to do that then pedaling a conventional bike is easy.
The best part is that he has two siblings (and maybe more!) to come after him and learn to ride on like-a-bike.
