Wooden snake puzzles

snake_puzzle.jpg

These snake puzzles are made in Sri Lanka from plantation-grown rubberwood and they're a fun and colorful way to help your kids learn their ABCs and 123s. Rubberwood is splinter-free and the paints are non-toxic so it's perfectly safe for kids. We've been doing a lot of puzzles lately, what with all the rain here in NYC, and these would be perfect additions. I've learned that at 2.5 years of age, kids might not be able to piece together puzzles on their own (I don't know what I was thinking - I just spilled some puzzle pieces on the floor the other week and expected my kid to go at it), but if they have some visual guides like the completed image to match behind like some wooden puzzles have, or in this case, the alphabet and numbers to guide them to the right pieces, they'll quickly learn how puzzles work.

The snake puzzles come in either the alphabet or numbers and are available at Flax Art & Design (but backordered till mid-November).
