Wooden High Chair from Smile Child

productimg1_1493.gif

Granted, whats best for baby comes first, but when I became a Mom, I went on an active campaign not to get sucked into the abyss of plastic baby products. Unavoidable in car seats, but high chairs? Thankfully, design conscious parents now have a plethora of attractive, functional, wooden high chairs to choose from (and even some cool plastic ones, but I digress). Heres one more. And its green too.

Available through smile child, another great organic/fair trade company in the UK, this simple chair is made of rubber wood that is only harvested after it has reached the end of its useful life aka stopped producing rubber. A new rubber tree will have already been planted to replace it.

So it's attractive? Check. Environmental? Check. How about functional? Check! This chair folds up for easy storage, and the tray lifts right over the seat for easy installation of your child into the 5-point harness.

I guess the chair is pretty popular in the UK, cause I found a lot of sites that carry it. But so far, I can't find one that ships to the US. (Please let me know if you do!) So again it's time to lobby your local US baby store to import them.
