ducduc a l'Orange

5482__dp.jpg

By way of disclosure, let me just state that I LOVE orange. Even my reading glasses are orange. My husband loves it too. You could say it’s our family’s signature color. So as far as we were concerned, having a baby boy was an excellent excuse to add even more of this jolly hue to our lives. Now the stroller is orange, the diaper bag is orange, and even my son's toothbrush is, yes, orange.

But we don't have any orange baby blankets. (Yes, friends and family who may be reading this, that was a HUGE hint.) So naturally I was drawn to these boisterous blankies from ducduc and Bla Bla (seems to be another theme here). Talk about orange! These covers are not shy.

And after orange, one of the things that I love most for children’s decor is ducks. (Maybe it’s because of their orange beaks!) I'm smitten for this bold, yet graphically simple ducduc duck. (Goose!) And if ever I feel like there’s too much orange in my life, the image reverses on the other side, so I can enjoy just a hint of citrus cheer.

Also adorable is this cozy coverlet by Bla Bla, made of soft Alpaca with hand embroidered designs. These actually come in several fabulous colors and motifs: pink/bird, blue/robin, olive/bird, but that’s beside the point. I like the orange one.

In fact, since one is cotton and the other fleece, I can see a good argument for getting both.
