Felt Slippers from Pia Wallén

felt_BabySlipperRed_l.jpg

What does the word 'felt' mean to you? To me, it's the multi-coloured squares of the stuff we used to cut up with blunt scissors at primary school. Fond memories, yes, but limited uses.

So I take my hat off to Pia Wallén, a Swedish designer who has found a multitude of uses for the stuff. Her minimalist designs use its best qualities :they're soft, brightly coloured, and warm. I'm beginning to see there's no better material for a pair of baby slippers.

Prices start at 290 Swedish Kronor (about $55.00). If, like me, you're having serious envy issues over your child's funky wardrobe, you'll be glad to know they come in adult sizes, too.
