The Birthday Sock

Sorta gimmicky, but who wouldn't love more presents on their birthday? And if you think about it, there's no real reason why you can't hang stockings on other days besides Christmas, so why not also make it a birthday tradition? I grew up without the whole stocking stuffer experience, not because my parents were depriving us, but because as immigrants, they just didn't know about it (like the tooth fairy, much to my irritation). So when I grew up and found myself assimilated into another family - my inlaws, who did do the whole Christmas stocking thing - I found myself at times looking forward to that hanging bundle of trinkets more than the actual gift under the tree.

So why not just hang one of your own socks instead of spending the 15 bucks for one of theirs? Sure, I guess you can do that, but it wouldn't be the official birthday sock from the Brithday Sock company! In any case, it's worth visiting the website for a good laugh. The illustrations are amusing and the Sculptures gallery (the sock takes on the shape of the any gift) is actually pretty cool.
