Children's Spaces: Zero to Ten

(Dear Readers - I own this book and feel I must apologize for not having thought to share it with you sooner. Hopefully this post will remedy my oversight.)
Redesigning your home to accommodate a child is a challenge that all parents face. (Ok, maybe it's not the most pressing parental trial, but it's there.) I found this book to be very inspiring on that score. Gorgeous photographs illustrate imaginative rooms from nursery to pre-teen that accommodate varied styles and budgets. It even shows how the corner of a room can be made into a welcoming space for your newborn. Many of the designs are eclectic, with the designers effectively demonstrating how to incorporate different elements and a mulitude of objects into one scheme. 'Cause let's face it, kids have a lot of "crap." Anyone can throw everything behind closed, modern doors and call their toddler's room "designed." The true genius comes in actually making a child's room look like a child actually lives and plays there. From a built-in boat bed for boys, to an orange wall for girls, this book does just that. So if you'd like a little creative inspiration that actually celebrates the child in your life, buy this book.
Author/designer Judith Wilson has another book Children's Room Essentials which I have not seen, but am definitely considering buying.

Thanks for the suggestion--it looks like a great book. I've just added it to my Amazon wishlist on the off chance my family is still Christmas shopping...
You might also want to check out From a House to a Home by Jemima Mills. It's written by a non-parent, and is somewhat light on practical solutions, but makes up for it with inspiring pictures and an overall "warm, fuzzy" feel.
