Say, I Saw A Seesaw Sofa

seasaw.gif

Qu'est-ce que c'est?! Just what it looks like, a seesaw sofa! Created by Danish designer Louise Campbell whose work is often described as "playful" and "experimental" (I'll say!), it's said to encourage creative conversation among adults. I can just see it now. Mom and Dad are having an argument. They adjourn to the seasaw sofa for a more constructive discussion. "Now remember, Honey. Please do not interupt me until I've indicated that I've finished my point by sending you up into the air."

No, I really can't see anyone but kids (or perhaps kids-at-heart) realizing the full potential of this design. I myself, look for something plush and zen to plop down on at the end of the day - not a conversation piece. But for children? The bright colors, funky form and, oh yeh, the SEEAWING MOTION!!!!! You'd be the coolest parent around if you had one of these in your play room. (And perhaps it could add some levity for you and your husband too.)
