The Small Object

I'm such a girl in that I just can't resist cute, little things. But the woman in me loves more sophisticated, contemporary design. Happily sometimes I can indulge both sides, like with theses cute, yet somehow modern, objects by The Small Object.
Designer Sarah Neuberger has created a whole cottage industry around indulging her imagination, creating whimsical characters that celebrate the magic in the everyday. Though graphically simple, they're infused with personality, making them totally appealing.
Two of my favorites are this unique family tree and the woodland rubber stamps. The former is a poster that has blank spaces in which you can fill in the names of your child's relatives. It also has a place to record the birth time, weight, etc. of the newest member of your tree, making it a perfect shower gift. I think it would look great over a crib or changing table, where the black and white critters could charm baby. As to the later, kids just love stamps. They're a perfect way for them to add a personal touch to gift wraps, cards, etc. Neuberger's feature a charming hedgehog, squirrel and acorn.

What can I say? To me they're utterly irresistible.
