Eunco

Elephants have become a theme in my son's life. His name is Olie, and when he was a baby, he was so big that we used to call him "Oliphant." Then, as he grew more aware and vocal, Olie himself took up the elephant as his totem of sorts. Long before the meow of a kitty or the mooo of a cow, the loud, proud pachyderm trumpet was his first animal sound. His favorite outing is to the Museum of Natural History to see the African elpehants. They're huge, and I think he'd be scared, but he runs around the room exclaiming,"BuRRRRuRRRR," "BuRRRRuRRRR!!!!!" much to the amusement of the here-to-fore bored guards. So when I saw Eunco's elephant print tee, I just had to get it for my little jumbo.
I just love the creative, bold, yet simple design that almost looks as if a child himself drew it. The tee is part of a whole line of clothes and paper goods featuring the monoprints of Korean/American artist, Eunju, who founded Eunco with her sisters in 2000. "Eun" means grace fo gift in Korean. So if you know a budding elephantphile (or shark, sea dragon, penguin, turtle, or ostrich-lover), you might want to pick one of these up for them. The cloths are all made of organic cotton and range in size from infant to 24 months.
