Keep socks on with Sock-ons

Sock Ons

About six weeks after my daughter was born, people kept telling me that Gap socks are the only ones that really stay on. They would pass on this tip as if it were a piece of arcane knowledge only granted to the favoured few. In fact, I probably shouldn't even be telling you.

Well, I don't know whether that's true or not, but I would say that we went through a few weeks where Tabitha wanted to take her socks and shoes off, and other than that I didn't really notice a sock problem.

That said, here's a solution for you if you do keep losing socks (and don't want to test out the Gap theory). Sock Ons are like little Velcro jackets that 'lock' the sock in place. They've won a 'best new invention' award and been talked up in various baby magazines. Apparently, they are 'indispensable'.

To me, they look like something a new mum on a budget could live without. Anyone want to prove me wrong?

Those are the dumbest things ever.

Who cares if the socks come off? You just put them back on.

Or do what I did, which was to dress my infant in a footie romper 99% of the time, which kept his entire little body warm and toasty. Including his feet.

Wow. Those are...dumb. They look like wraps for sprains.

For what it's worth, Old Navy socks stay on as well as Gap ones.

We had that problem, until my husband said "let's just put his shoes on" (his shoes being a hand-me-down pair of super soft leather Robeez). His socks stay on now just fine.

Not sure whether any of you guys have actually tried the Sock Ons. Speaking from experience, they are absolutely brilliant and saved me major grief looking for lost socks in shopping centres.

Each time I see my little boy tugging at his socks, I smile and know he doesn't stand a ruddy chance of pulling them off with Sock Ons.

Great idea. Spread the word.
