My Pet Fish Soap

fish48201.jpg

I'm in the middle of birthday party planning hell for the soon-to-be 3 year old. In my twisted logic I've decided that having 3 smaller parties at home for her various social groups would be more manageable and pleasant than having 20 kids, plus their sibling babies and parents all at one time. So why don't I rent a place, you say? Yes, it probably does make the most sense for the least amount of hassle, but I can't quite bring myself to rent out a room, a playspace or a gym for a 3 year old birthday party; it's not the money, really, but the principle of it all - I mean if I start at 3, where does it go from there? (MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen, anyone?). So...3 parties it is. At least the dad is a pastry chef and we'll get free cake.

I don't have time to belabor over the favors, yet I've been spending way too much time looking around and came across these. My Pet Fish Soap makes a great party favor. I mean, look! How clever is that? Brings back childhood memories of bringing that goldfish from the pet store (yes, only to die a few months later, sniff), but this little bag actually contains colorful plastic fish in vegetable based glycerin soap. In the end I was lured by something else, but I'm filing these away for next year.

Another great find from The Spoon Sisters.
