We've found our rocking chair, and it is good

The rule is Jess isn't allowed to get pregnant again until we get a nice rocking chair. There are a lot of things that are arguable in our relationship, but this is not one of them. We're on something of a quest for the perfect rocking chair, and this is an area we like something classical. There are a lot of rocking chairs out there, but only a few we like, and even fewer that tell you exactly why they're so comfortable.
So we're consindering The Weeks Rocking Chair. It's a little pricey at $1,600, but that's actually on the moderate end of some of the furniture we looked at. It doesn't hurt that these look great, are handmade from a variety of wood, and are guaranteed for your life. I'm going to hand you a stick, and see if you can beat that.
I'm going to repeat the following for the next few days: "I promise not to knock up my partner just so I can buy a great-looking and comfortable chair." We'll see if it works.

Hi- I just discovered your site through popgadget and I have to tell you we had the same considerations about comfortable rocking chairs. It's almost impossible to find the perfect one that works for 2am feedings as well! In the end we had one made by Jason Lewis Furniture, I had to go on a budget for months so we could afford it but it was SO WORTH IT. Pictures:

I bought a Gary Weeks Rocker in the summer of 2006 before my daughter was born. We love it. She loves it. Everyone who sits in it loves it! Funny thing is, I actually wrote to you guys about it around Feb 2007 or so. Maybe that prompted this post. Did you end up buying one?

Try the palace glider, availible from rockingchairs.com. I saw it in posh tots and had to have it, but my husband got sticker shock. I hate gliders - they are the very definition of tacky. But this one takes the cake, without looking like a glider. Not only did I snooze in it while nursing at 3am, my husband has found me asleep in it several times since.
