All-weather bootees - for babies who live in cold climes

abeko bootees

I posted a picture of my daughter on my personal blog with the caption 'All bundled up': she was wearing a scarf and a hat and several layers beneath a tightly-buttoned coat. In short order, a reply came from my Bostonian blogmates: 'You call that bundled up?'

Yes, we Brits tend to make a fuss when the temperature hits zero celsius: we love a good moan, and it always gives us a fine topic of conversation for the old ladies at the bus stop. I am aware, though, deep in my heart, that we have it easy. Just last week a Polish colleague was telling me about the minus thirty-degree winters they have back home.

All of which is to say that these fleece-lined all-weather bootees are the real deal if you are having to protect your baby through a proper winter. They're made in Sweden, where I guess they really know about cold, and by Abeko, a firm who specialise in outdoor adventure wear. Given that I fussed terribly over my daughter's temperature every time a few flakes of snow fell, I can quite see that these are an absolute necessity for those living in harsher climes.
