Super Natural Baby

When I was first looking for crib bedding 4 years ago, there didn't seem to be as many "modern" choices as there are today. Yes, there was Dwellbaby, but as much as I love the company as a whole, there isn't really a single print - adult or baby - that I love enough to sink $300 into yet. These days, new bedding designers are cropping up and I've finally found a set at Super Natural Baby that I'm completely in love with.

I got a chance to see the the bird crib set, shown above, at the Bubble show and it is stunning. An added bonus is that the bumper also ties together to make a little floor mattress, giving it new life after the bumpers are taken off the crib. The bird graphic manages to be both minimal and decorative at the same time, and the shock of bright color keeps it from being too serious. Check out the other motifs in this series, the alphabet and daisy. The designers have a keen eye for fresh color combinations that are playful, but not babyish, and no wonder - they're also graphic designers who are quite seasoned at making color choices and smart graphics that sit compositionally in interesting ways - a relief from the all-over pattern that is usually found on bedding prints.
I'm not exactly in the market for new bedding since the baby is using the toddler's hand-me-downs, but believe me, it's really really tempting.
