When all else fails, decorate with rugs

My better half is a full-time student and I'm a stay at home dad and a writer. While we love our lives and our kids, we're all somewhat cramped into an apartment; we're waiting until she has a degree before buying our first house. What we lack in space we make up for in love (cue the Full House-style "awwww" sound effect), but since we don't own our living space there isn't much we can do to decorate that's permanent. That's why I like rugs; you can usefully find something nice for a good price and they can change the entire feel of a room.
