A Piggy Pigeon bank

pigeon.jpg

It always seems to me that the more expensive piggy-bank options are a fairly poor way to introduce your child to the virtues of saving. Yes, I'm splashing out on this, but you have to save your pennies every week until you can afford a comic book - it doesn't really wash.

But the pigeon piggy bank from Conran is so attractive that it wouldn't have to be used as a bank at all. It'd stand as a rather lovely ornament anywhere in the home. With that in mind, you could buy it for yourself and your child need never know the price. Plus, £44 is quite reasonable for an ornament, just a bit steep for a piggy bank (it's $110 in the USA).

Is it just me, or is that not even vaguely a pigeon? It's a magpie. Which, since magpies steal bright shiny things, makes better sense, too.

Now you say it, the beak looks way too big for a pigeon. Still, that's how they bill it on the site (get it?!).
