Nenuphar - take the temperature of all your baby's surroundings

nenuphare_groen.jpg

I realize newborns are sensitive to temperature, but my toddler seems so hell bent on hurling himself off high objects, that I barely remember freaking out about his bath water. Truth be told, what drew me to this nifty, little thermometer was how pretty it looked floating in the water. But somewhere in the far reaches of my frazzled mind, I can recall those initial days of concern when I wasn't sure the elbow test would do the trick.

So if you're still in the throws of worry, consider this versatile device from French company, Beaba. Unlike many other all-too-cutesy or functional thermometers, Nenuphar is both modern and child-like, appealing to both mom and babe. It also works well out of water, sitting prettily on a shelf, in case you're wondering whether baby's room is too hot or cold. If you're used to reading degrees Celsius, that is. (It is from Europe after all.) For haggard newborn Moms in the US, trying to do the conversion just might be too much. (Although it does tell you the ideal temperature range.)
