Teach kids the joy of food preparation with peeling fruits

peelingfruits.jpg

Our kids are fascinated by food prep; they always want to help make a mess when we're cooking. They have a great toy that lets them pretend to cut up breads, meats and vegetables and they can't get enough of it. In that vein we found the peeling fruits set. It comes with four fruits that you can peel, which may seem silly on the surface, but you'd be surprised how it's the simpler toys that go the distance.

Even better is that they all open differently, giving the set some variety. I'm coming close to teaching the kids to make me waffles in the morning, but until that day toys like this will give them a lasting love of food - the right kind of food, as well. I don't know if I'd be gushing about a toy that taught them how to open a bag of Doritos.
