Europa Child's Chair

Sometimes I feel like we should change our tag to "Babygadget, your source for bent-ply." Why? Because we seem to like it. A lot. And why shouldn't we? To my mind there's something archetypically pleasing about the seamless contours created in the process of simply bending wood into a form. Maybe its because the resulting amoeba-like shape is reminiscent of the primordial ooze from whence we all came. But whatever the reason, unlike some progressive designs that can feel rather harsh or cold, bent ply is lovely and serene. And, I've recently learned that it’s also eco-friendly, using about an eighth the amount wood normally required.
A rather fine example of the beauty that is bent ply is the Europa child's chair by J. Pershing. Available in a rainbow of colors or stained finishes, it's both clean and stylish. Not only that, it looks quite comfy too.

The Community Playthings version is much cheaper. Sturdy too, it's what they use in all the children's museums around here.
