The Black Beauties Collection by Ineke Hans

I have to admit I’ve never considered black furniture for a kid’s room. Hadn't seen any until now, I don’t think. But viewing these pieces from Ineke Hans’s Black Beauties Collection, via Modern Child, has me reconsidering. The entire line is not only beautiful but made out of recycled plastic, making it resistant to virtually anything. Apparently, the collection intends to “invite children to think about/re-think shapes, texture, typology and color through play”. Nice mission statement for kid furniture, I have to say. These pieces, in their entirety, somehow feel clean, streamlined, serene, like negative space, or cut-outs.... They would do well in an uncluttered room, wouldn't they?--that’s how I’ve imagined them. Am I thinking out loud here? Guess I’m not fully convinced, a bit on the fence...Needless to say, it is a striking, interesting and somehow poetic collection.
