Calendar rug - rearrange time

The price and the sheer size of this product make it a more likely purchase for a kindergarten or school than a home, but it appealed to me so much I thought I'd highlight it (and, come to think of it, I don't know whether any of our readers are buying for nurseries rather than for family use).

I've heard that some children understand concepts far more quickly if they can undertake a physical activity rather than simply listening. With this calendar rug, the child can actually get right in the month, moving days around and visualising how one day follows another. Since a colour's attached to each day of the week, I'm certain this is a tool which will set up logical visualisation of time - for life, even. Which I must admit is something I could have done with myself.
