Bholu bedding

bholu_sheeet1.jpg

Bholu is an Australian company featuring very textural, but simple designs by Jodie Fried and hand-made and hand-embroidered by women artisans in Western Gujarat, India. Her children's line features lovely felt, red and white animals which Justine wrote about last month, but there's white cotton bedding too - sweetly embroidered with drawings made by children from underprivileged communities. Not only can you admire Bholu's designs and products, but her Fair Trade practices, with proceeds going back to the communities and funding education facilities is particularly noteworthy.

I love the bedding designs as well as the positive impact this venture will likely have on its underprivileged kid designers.
