A book to help you Make, Bake and Celebrate

polly and jago

It's definitely true that festivals and celebrations take on much more importance when there is a child in the family. Suddenly you remember how important traditions and togetherness were during your own childhood. Simple things like Christmas stockings and Easter egg hunts suddenly become exciting. It's rather nice to be able to launch yourself back into them with enthusiasm, after several years of affected nonchalance.

Anyway, if it all seems rather a long time ago, and you can't quite remember the recipe for pancakes on Shrove Tuesday or the best way to carve a pumpkin, here's a book that promises to guide you through an activity for 'almost every day of the year'. The author is the owner of a deli and restaurant in London, and - of course - a mum herself. She's teamed up with an award-winning photographer and a children's book illustrator to produce this appealing book, £12.99 from its dedicated site.
