Clémentine Collinet: distinctive illustration

animal_puzzle_lrg.jpg

Sometimes a Babygadget post will lead you on a trail of discovery. When I saw this animal jigsaw (£13.00; select '1st birthday gifts' and scroll down), I immediately recognised the style as being the same as a set of Djeco blocks my uncle had bought us recently. The illustrative style was so fun that I made a point of scrutinising the packaging for the artist's name - and there it was: Clémentine Collinet.

Now, I like to think of myself as a bit of a Google whiz (don't we all?), and I have to say it wasn't at all easy tracking down mention of Collinet outside the big bookselling sites. In the end, though, I found her main internet presence: the Clémentine Collinet blog, showing a number of her recent pictures. And, even better, if you're thinking you'd like a piece of her work: Le Sardine, which turns out to have little stuffed toys made by her, too. It's all in French, and the prices are in Euros.
