U-Plan Puzzles

U-Plan has some amazing puzzles, however, the site is entirely in Japanese. But aren't these amazing? There are all kinds on the website - a seemingly endless number of puzzles to peruse. Jess especially likes the ones that appear to feature nursing animals. I like this one with all of the different animals fitting together below - my best guess is that they are the animals of the Chinese zodiac - can anyone out there confirm?

yup, looks like the chinese zodiac--and even in order of who won the race. i always remember that the rat rode on top of the ox and jumped off at the finish--just beating the ox.

And there's even a cat for the alternative zodiac.

They're by Sabu Oguro [full name: Saburo Oguro] who originally designed some of these mom/baby animal puzzles for Naef, the Swiss wooden toy company that also makes reproductions of early Bauhaus blocks.
My favorites of Oguro's puzzles are his little samurai warriors, where all the pieces form a playset.
