Pedobike

We just bit the bullet and bought a Like-a-bike. I have to say, it's THE BEST! My son loves it and rides it everywhere. I really appreciate being relieved of having to push one of those handled tricycles, and like the fact that he gets to practice his balance before he has to master the more complicated issue of pedals. Seems to me this has to be good for brain/body development/coordination.
But hey, it's also always nice to have alternatives. One such is this pretty cool looking Pedobike by Holz-Hoerz. Like the Like-a-bike, it's made of wood, is manufactured in Germany (always good), and sports some nifty, contemporary stylin'. I really like its butterscotch wheels. Operating much the same way as the Like-a-bike, it's distinguished by some unique accessories, including a horse "prow" ornament and even skis! Unfortunately, though less than some, it's not quite a bargain option. But in my opinion, these bikes are worth every penny!
Also available at (for a little less) here.

Is it just me, or is that a bad choice of name for a kid's bike?

I could not agree more! My 2-year-old LOVES his like-a-bike. He rides it everywhere!!
I just wish my Phil&Teds buggy came with some sort of bicycle hook for when he gets too tired to ride...

$80! GET IT! It will be the best $80 you've ever spent. Or better yet, ask relatives to go in on it for a special occasion. That's how I got my Like-a-Bike.
