Jack Sprat

il_fullxfull.20697604.jpg

I’ve been sitting on draft of Jack Sprat for about a week now, as I eagerly awaited the arrival of some of designer Carie Arseneau’s new looks for spring. Boy, am I glad I waited. And before they go up on her Etsy shop, I’m very happy to share this sneak peak (below) with you.

The surprising creations of Jack Sprat are one more reason why dressing boys has become so much more fun of late. Unconfined by traditional concepts of ubiquitous vehicles and sports paraphernalia, Carie finds inspiration in nursery rhymes as well as her own son. The results are garments that celebrate the individuality and spontaneity of our little lads with beautiful (yet still rugged) fabrics, fashionable (but still functional) styles, and clever (yet still cute) cuts. All are carefully hand-sewn to insure that they can take a boy beating. And the bonus: pretty much all of Jack Sprat clothes would look great on girls too!

Coming soon: new for spring!
