Reinhard Plank - very grown-up hats for little people

reinhard-plank1.jpg

Here's a thing that took me very much by surprise - and I'm still not sure whether I like them or not. Reinhard Plank makes hats for child-sized heads, but these are no bobble hats or bonnets. They're simply scaled-down versions of adult bowlers, trilbies, and toppers (sadly, the price is barely scaled-down: I guess the materials, the expertise, and the manufacturing process are similar enough to make the overheads - no pun intended - much the same).

Do they look good? The sad little faces they've chosen to model them might be swaying me here. I'm thinking of prissy little princesses who are buttoned into coats they're not allowed to get dirty, topped with an expensive felt hat. But some of these, worn rakishly with, say, a cowboy costume and a broad grin, might just look super-cool.

I hate to say it, but this picture reminds me of Children of the Corn. Maybe it's the faces of the kids or something...?

Ha ha, classic, Kirsten!
