MagMag Drinking System by Pigeon

At a recent playdate with an Australian friend and her daughter, my son decided that he and his little girlfriend should not only share their lunches, but also swap sippy cups. His was the usual Born Free 9 ounce blue cup that he totes everywhere and hers was this quirky looking orange MagMag cup from the Japanese company Pigeon. Well, smitten would hardly be the word to describe my guy's infatuation with this new item. We had tried other cups with straws but they all seemed so huge that they dwarfed him!

The MagMag, however, has handles and is about the size of an orange - perfect for little hands. The straw is the third stage top for this system, which starts as a bottle first and a soft spout second, so it grows with your baby. My friend's mother has been smuggling these cups in from Australia, since she couldn't find them in the U.S., but I recently found them on the Canadian website Galtak.
While no toddler melee ensued when it was time for my son to hand back the MagMag, I'm very glad that one is en route as I type...

Wow, Pigeon! I have 3 tiny glass baby bottles by Pigeon that my baby loves. They're the only ones she can hold on her own cos the Born Free glass ones are too heavy.
Didn't realize they made other stuff.
I found my bottles at Mitsuwa Grocer in Edgewater, NJ- just outside of NYC. The tiny ones I buy are 4$ a piece.

That's great! My son seriouly tilts forward when he has a full sippy. When did we need to supersize toddler cups??

We live in Australia and have been using this cup for about the last 6 months. It is fab! And I never knew it originated from Japan, but it all makes sense now.....such a cute and smart design!

I agree with J, the Mitsuwa carries a bunch of Mag Mag cups and attachments, the only problem is stock is hit or miss. I actually have these Korean brand Happyland straw cups that are similar that my son loves. He's been using them since he was about 9 months - never understood the tilt for the sippy cup.

What is the BPA status of the Pigeon products? The reason why we use BornFree and the reason I suspect a lot of other people use BornFree is because they are BPA free...

I recently emailed an Australian company called Pigeon, which makes magmag sippy cups (www.galtak.com/magmag.htm), to ask whether there was BPA in the plastic. The response? "Thank you for your email. All plastic products have BPA – Pigeon bottles have less than the recommended amount."
