The Beaba Babycook

babycook.jpg

It's becoming increasingly hard to trust that what's being put in our food is good for us. It seems every week there is another report about additives, chemicals, or some obscure, hard to pronounce thing that is potentially harmful. If you'd like to take some of the worry off your mind, the Beaba Babycook is a great product. A steamer, blender, warmer and defroster, the Babycook is the perfect appliance to help you make your own baby food. And what's better than knowing exactly what's in something you made yourself?

We saw this sold at Williams Sonoma and got excited. Then noticed that the food was being steamed in polycarbonate. Does anyone know if there should be a concern with BpA and this product?

I was really excited about this product until I did more research on it. Right now, it is suggested that you do not cook or heat up polycarbonate plastics, especially for babies or pregnant women. Canada has already banned BpA products in the lining in cans of baby formula and baby products.

If they would use a different plastic or different type of material, this would be worth it again. As of now, I am just not willing to take the chance.

Such a shame too, I really loved this product.
