Voido - the chair with a hole (or two)

voido.jpg

Sometimes on Babygadget, we like to feature pieces that were not precisely designed with children in mind, but which look as if they would fit comfortably into a family home. Here's one such: Voido (sounds like a superhero to me), a rocking chair from Roy Arad.

A look at the designer's website shows that this figure-of-eight shape is one he's been playing about with for a while, in more adult-looking guises. But in this version, the soft edges, single colour, and tempting holes make it look like something kids would love to explore, and probably more thoroughly than the adults in the house.

The adults who have just thrown down a cool £1K, that is. The question remains whether you could bear to let children loose on such expensive furniture, no matter how appealing it is to them.

I am in serious lust over this chair! I somehow doubt they'll be reducing it in their sale though... Great find!
