Chirping Cricket & Other Musical Instruments

I've recently discovered a new favorite website called For Small Hands. As the name suggests, everything on the site is made to be manipulated by our little ones. There's a great section on the site called "Around the World" where you can buy cultural items such as the Chirping Cricket and the Croaking Frog.

These wooden instruments are handcrafted in Thailand. Move the stick over the sides of the cricket's wooden legs to hear a chirp or tap the frog to hear him croak. For $12 each, you could even collect the Hooting Owl to round things out. While I'm all for miniature versions of grown up musical instruments, I'm fairly certain I'd rather hear a croaking frog than the clash of child sized symbols at 7 in the morning, which was the unfortunate case for me today...
