Ingenious modular light

Do you ever think kids have such enchanted childhoods these days that they might just go on to find adulthood slightly unsatisfactory? I suppose the best we can hope for is that they find something lacking and set about making the world a magical place in other ways.

I mean, look at this modular light: you put the pieces together in whatever configuration you please, so you don't have to be stuck with the same old, boring light night after night. I had one bedside light throughout my entire childhood and never thought to question it, but there you go.

Indisputably fun, this piece is by graduate Paul Blease, and not in production as far as I can see - but I'm sure we'll be hearing more from this designer, judging by the inventive portfolio on his site. Could it be that Blease had a great childhood himself, I wonder?
