Quicksmart: a stroller that really folds down

quicksmart_folded.jpg

I can't pretend I've tried the Quicksmart Easyfold stroller, nor have I knowingly seen one in action, so I'm not able to write a review. Instead, I bring it to your attention as something you may wish to explore further for yourself - and of course, if you have one yourself, please feel free to comment below and tell us what you think.

What caught my eye about this Aussie pushchair was its boast that it folds down to just about the minimum size possible for such a product, fitting in to its own small carrybag, and of course slipping into a tightly-packed car boot with ease. If space is an issue in the home, or your co-tenants are forever tripping over your pushchair in the stairwell, it looks like this could be an answer to many of your problems.

Being so small, it's also light - at 13lbs, it's not much heavier than a six-month-old baby, the youngest passenger it can take. And yet, it can carry up to 33 lbs, which could take you well into your child's third or even fourth year.

Of course, the crucial point about all folding pushchairs is how quickly they compact: at a busy bus-stop, no-one's got time for multiple levers and esoteric sequences of moves. There's a video on the site that shows the fold action, but I guess you'd really have to try it for yourself to gauge how easy it is.

Hi Myf. I would almost lay bets that this is a Lebruss pushchair in the UK rebranded for Oz. Or...the Lebruss pushchair is actually a rebranding of the Quicksmart. I think it's called a Takeover which we're featuring soon but I saw it at the Baby Show a few months ago and it's exactly the same. If it is the same, they are pretty nifty numbers and amazingly compact when they fold down. Pretty sturdy too - I was able to sit in it...

We own one of the original ones. While they are nice for travel, most smaller airplanes still will not allow them in the overhead and make you check them instead. Also they become "flimsy" the more you use them and become difficult while turning like the cheapo $12 strollers. I would not waste your money on this as I have heard the same from 3 other mothers as well.

Thanks for the insight, Natalie!
