Skip Hop Stay Put Mat and Plate

HOP1125_l.jpg

First your kids are merely clumsy. Then they deliberately throw food on the floor as a way to "test" you. Then they toss their dishes because they don't know how to "channel" all their feelings. Whatever the reason, it's a long time before you can reassuringly eat without a HAZMAT suit, so any children's dish that's nailed down seem like a good idea to me.

Thus I REALLY like the design of the stay put mat from Skip Hop. Not only is it cool looking, but the dish and utensils are securely fastened to the mat! Plus it has other nifty bells and whistles: it's BPA-phthalate-and-PVC-free; it's dishwasher (top rack), refrigerator, and microwave safe; and when you (that's you, the parent) lift the plate off the mat, your child is treated to a rewarding smiley face. Also available in raspberry pink and sky blue. I have to say, it's pretty neat all around.

I love these stay-put-mats - what a great idea when you have those messy little tots in your house! Now they'll just throw the food in stead of the plate and the food.
