"It's a ..." banner

itsagirl.jpg

I've always remembered walking through a small town not far from where I live, and seeing a handmade poster in the window proclaiming 'It's a boy!' - it seemed like a sign that there was a real community there, with neighbours who would be glad to know the news, even if they didn't want to disturb the brand new family.

In the larger, more cynical city that I live in, that's not a common practice at all, but, hey, it's never too late to start a trend. These boy or girl garlands from Aussie stockist The Princess and the Pea have a lovely old-school feel about them and would look just lovely hanging in a porch or a front window. Yes, kinda cutesy, but nice, too.
