Felted Animal Necklace from Motley Mutton

Are these not just the cutest things you've EVER seen?! I mean, I almost hesitate to put them in a design blog because something with a Awwwwwww-factor this high can't be hip and mod. Right? Well they are made of felt. Handmade actually, by Nancy Bevins who runs a sheep farm in West Virginia. Twelve years ago she started needle felting these irresistible creatures as a means of dealing with a growing pile of wool, and thus Motley Mutton was born. Now she's created a whole menagerie of furred, feathered, and scaly friends from woodland animals to those of the African plain or jungle. (Be sure to peruse past orders if you don't see your favorite fauna, because she does take custom orders.) Perfectly perched on natural leather chain, each unique critter has his own lovable personality. I just think they are beyond charming, adorable and precious, and I can't imagine what child would not love to have a necklace "pet" of his very own to take with him where ever he goes.
