Graham Carter, printmaker

graham_carter

Funny, how life on the internet is. It was a feed from a Canadian illustration blog that alerted me to the work of Graham Carter: a printmaker and gallery co-owner operating right here in my own UK hometown of Brighton.

And wow, what work. As you enjoy flicking through his gallery, you'll see recurring themes of hairy apes, robots, origami and fairytale landscapes. And while not all of them are suitable for kids, the ones that are? Well, they really are. Each tells some story we're not fully party to, and the landscapes seem to invite the viewer to step deep into their middle-ground.

Add to that the very individual colour palettes, and a seemingly effortless way with shape composition, and I'm sold. Prices are mainly £150, unframed.
