Lauren Moriarty lampshades

Seascape-glow-lamp

If you have one of those children who likes to obsessively compile and compare facts, or perhaps just a general shark-o-phile, the Seascape Glow lamp by Lauren Moriarty would be a great bedtime choice.

A number of deep-sea creatures wend their way around the lamp; facts are given about the size of each. Best of all, though, is that they are printed in phosphorescent ink, causing them to glow for several hours after switching on the lamp charges them up. What a super way to be calmed to sleep.

Budding architects may prefer the London skyline lamp, below, which uses similar technologies to create the effect of a sunrise over the capital.
