Kariboo Coat Rack

showpic.jpeg

Sad as I am to admit it, my friends call me "fact check." Here's why. When I see this fabulous kids' coat rack called Kariboo my first thought is, "Wow, that's great." Second I read the description and think, "A caribou is not an elk. And really this looks way more like a moose." (Note that I go with the misspelling of caribou, because I'm not completely humorless.) Anyways this jolly, red, plastic rack that's vaguely representative of some large member of the cervid (deer) family, really is quite great. And hey, maybe it could serve as a launching point for an educational discussion with your child about deer differences. Like for example, if you are looking to mix up your caribou references with a synonym, it would be perfectly correct to say "reindeer," but not "elk."
